网飞在波兰首次尝试艺术电影制作，较为常规，冰冷质感有点像兹维亚金采夫的《无爱可诉》，中间女主角在丈夫死后听高雅音乐的场景也像《蓝》中的类似片段。格但斯克在电影中的形象不再是以往波兰电影中的工业、团结工会等元素，而是冰冷大海、寒枝雀静等波罗的海沿岸国家通用的冷冽形象。

东欧电影特有的土蓝灰色调，阴暗的大全景，其实剧情一开始就交代了结局，在课堂上关于最大生物的讨论，是后面大海捞针式寻找的一个小隐喻，她是一个生物，但又像是一个迷雾森林，如同在不同地点捡到的纽扣，无法证明是否出自同一个人。
